has been singing all her life. But it wasn't until 1998 that she began setting new Christian lyrics to well-known, treasured melodies penned in the early part of the 20th century. Friends and family, surprised and impressed by her talent, encouraged her to write more.
Although the majority of her creative energy has been spent writing inspirational lyrics to treasured and well-known pre-1923 melodies by such composers as Irving Berlin, Victor Herbert, Stephen Foster, Carrie Jacobs-Bond, Caruso, Arthur Penn, Sigmund Romberg, Rudolf Friml and others, her most recent endeavors include writing both the music and lyrics for a number of thought-provoking songs of a patriotic nature that encourage individual responsibility as well as active participation in Constitutional govern- ment. Marilyn was spurred on by the success of the Tea Party Movement in the 2010 elections, and now has seven songs that explore issues and concerns surrounding the Constitution, Liberty, and the role of God and Government in America.
